ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Twenty years ago Claude Dubé left the throes of the glamorous Hollywood scene performing with London (who spawned the careers of Blackie Lawless, Nikki Sixx and eventually Tommy Lee). At the time, he had been playing, recording and sound engineering in the LA circuit for 5 years and decided that it was time to lay down some roots so he packed up and headed back to Canada with his wife to start a life with their newborn daughter Michelle (of CHCHTV NEWS). Upon arriving in Canada, Claude couldn’t stay away from music for long so, with his brother Dany, and friends Dennis Decker, Nick Holden, Kevin Camilleri, they formed Thr DuBay Band.
Fast forward twenty years later and Claude (along with new members Pat Campion and Peter Bellm) has since created a legacy with his band which now includes 6 records, 6 singles, four music videos, hundreds of performances as well as a rock version of Oh Canada that is currently being played in a variety of high schools everyday in Hamilton.
The digital age has not escaped the band; rather they have embraced it in so many ways. Some may remember in the early days of the internet, one of the few web sites that paid bands for each play was MP3.com. Here the DuBay Band racked up an astonishing 368,000 plays. More recently, their video for Oh Canada has amassed more than 12,000 plays on You Tube and has sold countless singles of the same song on Itunes. And recently the Hamilton Spectator gave the band a nod as the best area submission into the CBC Hockey Night in Canada Theme Song Contest.
Twenty years may have come and gone but most people have the sense that there will be another 20 years yet to come. The band is releasing their new single “Do You Believe” off of their new record “Chronology” along with select songs from the last 20 years.
A mixture of blues and rock, The DuBay Band is a collection of very talented and experienced musicians creating an array of classic rock and pop songs. Sounding similar to bands ranging from ZZ Top to Kansas, with even influences from The Beatles. Their mixture of sound is represented very well with skilled guitar melodies, accompanied by a solid interlocking bass and drum grooves held together with great vocal melody and harmonies.
