ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
A compilation album is usually a collection of different artists “compiled” into a hopefully cohesive album. I’ve used it to describe some songs written between 1988 and 2011 that finally amalgamated like space debri to form a planet, my 8th album.
I discovered this after the thing came to life of its own accord, and as an intelligent and logical person, was unable to rename it due to superstition….and a desire to avoid any more aka files on my computer.
But I digress, so like a crashing bobsledder returning pretty much to the intended path let me introduce the songs of ”Compilation 8”

Thank to drummer/percussionists; Stewart Long - Castaways Dream & Original,
Mick Hawes - Live For The Day.

I‘ll use McLaren Music’s patented “Feisty / Mellow (FM)” indicator for the first time on this release. For example a ‘5’ rating suggests a track about as loud as I usually get, while a ‘1’ rating is potentially sleep inducing.

Castaways Dream
You all know the beach, even the coconuts are smooth. FM2

Original
The bass riff is a pogo ride to the frantic guitar solo, vocal range is given a workout. FM4

Chance & Destiny
My guitar hero effort, may be considered a bit dark by cosmic types. FM5

Live For The Day
If we could all take our own advice, we may or may not find nirvana….probably depends how good your advice is? FM3

Innocence
When love hits the skids. FM4

Again
Life….what can I say, this song is one of my exploratory electronic efforts, a hypnotic journey. FM3

230962
One of twins, this is a kind of rockabilly version while the one still on the hard drive is a stripped back, mostly vocal overdubs with piano and cello, with a welsh choir flavour, it was a fight to the finish who got the gig. FM2

Pretty Song For You
Aaaaah mortality, all we can do is our best, no points awarded for holding back. The organ used on this track is a 70s vintage flea market purchase of the totally non-portable variety. FM1
