Album Notes
We made this record to help reinvest in the holiday spirit. Equal parts: fun, serious, referential, reverential, slow dancing, and booty shaking. We recorded it on an 8 year old computer with a 10 year old recording interface in a small apartment. We did the best we could with what we have. We hope everyone will do the best with what they have this holiday season, for themselves, family, friends, and total strangers.

Duover is a human coed acoustic guitar and vocal music pairing from Portland, Oregon. Nathan Jr. has played in the touring bands of M. Ward and Sea Wolf, and locally with Mike Coykendall, Rick Bain, Stan McMahon, Rob (Highway) Bonds, and many others. Rebecca Rasmussen grew up on the North Shore of Oahu. She sang at church and wrote songs under the blue sky ceiling of her oceanfront temple. Together they imagine.

Editors Pick
As a veteran of M. Ward's touring band, a sometimes-member of Mike Coykendall & the Golden Shag, and hired-gun for Sea Wolf, it's no wonder Nathan Jr. has allowed some freaky psychedelic folk influences to seep into this charming collection of Christmas originals. But Duover, the "human coed acoustic guitar and vocal music pairing" that consists of Nate and his partner-in-crime, Rebecca Rasmussen, doesn't just linger in a soupy nostalgic Holiday haze. While reverb-drenched songs like "Home for the Holidays" and "Old Soles" are dead-ringers for Coykendall productions, the sonic adventures in Duover also stretch pretty far out there, from the rapping and doom-tronic sounds of the Leonard Cohen-ish "Under Mistletoe," to the unbridled sweetness of "Fruitcake," to the boogie-woogie shuffle of "Trivial Pursuit," which blends funky clavinet with Kinks-inspired piano. You've probably heard it many times this season, but we really really mean it here: If you're tired of the same-old Holiday tunes, this is the Christmas album for you.
