ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
11/2/2004- dutchland diesel celebrates their ten year anniversary at the chameleon club. dutchland diesel is a lancaster based original rock band. the foursome dashes from indie to ironsides in a blur of rhythmically jangled guitar, hard hitting drums, bass with tangents of melody vs. rhythm, and a well-winded vocalist who ranges from sting to freddy mercury. other influences include those of early U2, the police, led zeppelin and various underground heroes. the ten-year span has thus taken them from the precious keystone state to detroit rock city, from little rock to texas and up the east coast again, showing to any small or big town ears their musical fashion. they have played songs of love, regret, forgiveness and angst in all venues including clubs, bars, fire halls, honky tonks and bon fires. the band, now three and a half albums strong and eleven years proud, invites you to join them for a special set of all original music and a portion of an up and coming documentary about the band, the music, and their approach to life. lives with cheer, good times and back-pats for failure. thanks for the sanity.

Peter Baker (Barfly Magazine)

If you like them live, you'll love this CD
On their May 2003 release, Jump the Fence, we hear them doing what they do best: rocking hard (Your Town), rocking harder (Medicine for Medicine), and also mellowing out (Pre-sleep). The songwriting is quality; the plaintive, impassioned vocals are quite good, and the instrumental work is hot. This is a great band with an established reputation. If you like them live, you'll love this CD.

Bernard Gueffier (Le Maubeugois, France)

This is something quite enigmatic, dirty but not morbid, a rare beauty.
This music is rare beauty. I found lots of sarcasm and hidden criticisms of out ways of life, and insightful in a way of reflection. Plus the voice, though beautiful, comes across as kind of yelling at someone and quite tortured (kind of Jeff Buckley on some intonations) and no compromises on the music, which remains quite original. This is something quite enigmatic, dirty but not morbid, artistically oriented to something rusty, old style but still contemporary, a subtle mix between NKOTB revisited by Andy Warhol on acid, or the Reader's Digest published by Thrasher.
