ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
DYAN KANE studied, recorded and performed in NYC and the tri-state area, Canada, England, and New England before transplanting to Los Angeles, where she continues to gig steadily. Years of cocktailing at NYC's legendary Blue Note Jazz Club exposed her to legends like Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Betty Carter, Carmen McCrae, Oscar Peterson, Quincy Jones, Stanley Turrentine, Freddie Hubbard, Ahmad Jamal, and dozens more who taught her about style, nuance, professionalism and respect for the music. She has recorded and performed with the likes of Dwayne Burno, Sam Most, John Stubblefield, Winard Harper, Ted Curson, and Jeff Goldblum, and has shared the stage with Disco/House Divas Taanya Gardner (Heartbeat) and Barbara Tucker(Beautiful People), among others. An experienced Stage, Film and TV actress, her acting chops serve to bring a fresh, emotional depth and dimension to her delivery. Her improvisational, chance-taking approach can be heard on her upcoming CD 'DYATRIBE', which features the great and gifted soul pianist Robert Turner, the incredibly nimble Ryan Cross (Bass) and the always amazing Lyndon Rochelle (Drums). Other influences include Dianne Reeves, Erykah Badu, Al Jarreau, Angie Stone and Jill Scott.-
