Michael Eagleson has been playing the Atlanta music scene since 1995, but his musical history began many years earlier. Michael first picked up the guitar at age 16, but he has been singing all his life. He began singing in the Children's Choir at the First United Methodist Church of Mattoon, Illinois, at just 3 years of age, and started taking piano lessons at 5. While in elementary school, Michael learned to play the saxophone, and it wasn't until high school that he decided to pick up the guitar. Later, Michael also began experimenting with the harmonica, drums, percussion, and any other instruments he could get his hands on.

While in high school, Michael was the front man for several ever-changing garage-band lineups. While attending the University of Illinois, he formed an original band called Huge and later played the campus music scene both as a solo act and as an acoustic duo known as Redhead Lunch. Upon graduation, Michael became the lead singer for the Champaign, Illinois, classic rock band Paint it Blue, but eight months later, his career path brought him to Atlanta, Georgia.

Michael entered the Atlanta music scene as an acoustic solo act and soon had a considerable following in the area. He continues to play as a solo act in metropolitan Atlanta and surrounding areas, and also with several other Atlanta musicians. Eagleson frequently appears as an acoustic duo with his friend and producer, Jeff Pike, who has been playing in Atlanta for almost 20 years. He also sits in with local bands Vertical Smile, The Booze Brothers, and A1A, the official Jimmy Buffett tribute band.

Michael released his first full-length CD, Don't Wait Up, in the Fall of 1999 to great critical acclaim. Don't Wait Up has nearly sold out, remaining copies are available at Amazon.com, CDNow.com, CDBaby.com, CDStreet.com, and BestBuy.com, as well as through special order from Best Buy, Camelot Music, and Borders retail stores.

Michael's second CD, Bipolar Bear, was released in November 2002, and is better than the first in many ways. Michael's songwriting has grown both emotionally and musically, while the production quality is sure to exceed all expectation. Bipolar Bear is available at Amazon.com, CDBaby.com, CDStreet.com, as well as on the EagleSongs Web site. MP3 Downloads are available at Amazon.com, MP3.com, and Intomusic.com.

Michael's third CD, Three-Night Stand, is a live, acoustic recording that contains 13 songs from the first 2 CDs, plus 3 new original songs, and Michael's version of Todd Snider's "That was Me." It also features Michael telling the stories behind the songs, as well as interaction from the intimate crowd at the recording.

A Music Fan

Eagleson has done it again!
I loved Eagleson's first album "Don't Wait Up", so I just had to get this one, even though I was sure he wouldn't be able to do it again. Boy was I wrong! "Bipolar Bear" is even better! From start to finish, there's not a bad song on it. It's obvious that Eagleson's songwriting has grown both emotionally and musically, and the production quality is impeccable. It's almost impossible to tell this is an independent release... and it's hard to believe Eagleson isn't a huge star yet.

Gotta Like Mike!
Michael Eagleson is officially my new favorite artist. Where is his recording deal? That aside, this is not some guy singing in his garage ~ Eagleson is the real deal! Bipolar Bear is one CD you won't have to skip a track on to get to the good stuff. It's ALL good! You won't find better lyrics (and ones you can really relate to). He can tug at your heart strings, make your reminisce, or flat-out make you laugh. The best part ~ there is NO mindless filler and no songs that repeat the same two phrases over and over and over. What a concept. This is what music is supposed to be like. The vocals pull you in accompanied by tight backgrounds and awesome accompaniment.

BUY THIS CD ~ YOU WILL LOVE IT! You should also check Michael Eagleson out live ~ did I mention he's the real deal?

Wow - what a great CD. Was very impressed with the quality - and can't think of one song I didn't like. It is even better than the first CD.

I thought his first cd was great, but I like this one even better!

Keep them coming, Mike!

I have both of Mike Eaglesons' Cds and I love both of them. They both are extremely well done. He does a very good job of putting a variety of songs on there. Every song is uniquely done and well recorded. I found the entire Cd very easy to listen to and acceptable for all ages. It is a very well produced Cd. I reccomend this Cd to everyone!!!
