Album Notes
Hailing from Sydney's Bondi Beach and playing a fusion of slide blues, rock and funk, rock identity Mark Easton teamed up with long-time friend Peter Copeland on bass and young hot shot Jared Harrison on drums. The result is the debut CD from Mark Easton Limousine, aptly titled 'Coast To Coast', a six track slab of pure energy-driven, no-frills, blues-soaked rock and roll which was indicative of the live set of the original line-up.

A pretty cool debut this one, with a 6 track ep featuring some great vocals at times & some equally impressive moments in the instrumentals, with some fairly 'on edge' traditional blues & some more rocking blues moments in the vein of people like George Thorogood. For the record, the band come out of the Bondi Beach area of Sydney, so they have a pretty good set of scenery to inspire them.

Some very cool moments & good production helps things along & some of the slide guitar such as the pretty revved track "Blow It All Away", which reminds me of one of the recent Grinspoon tracks, is a pretty cool number, bested only by the more traditional sounding blues edginess of "Wormwood Kisses", which is definitely a favourite for me. Good stuff & well worth checking out this new band.

Coast To Coast is out now through MGM.

Coast to Coast from australia we got this ep six track slab of
pure energy-driven, no-frills, blues-soaked rock and roll
which is indicative of his live set.
This is the cd debut of Mark Easton Limousine, who has got a
very powerful power trio which blends rock and blues, using
slide on overdriven guitars. By moments make me remember
old vinyl records of bands like DR. FEELWOOD, an old british 70's blues & rock band. Is a equal kind of sound.
The music is very good, but the six songs don't reach to see
the quality of songwriter of mark, but is a really great work
for a band with nine months working together.
The band got mass exposure with with airplay in australian
radios and a new music video, but
Interstate and regional venues are also a priority of the
This is a good tape to listen to on the road!!!

Australian bluesman Mark Easton has gathered a new bassist and drummer to form a blues powerhouse called Limousine. A veteran guitarist and vocalist from seven bands dating back to 1979, Easton has been featured on 16 albums. The release of Limousine's debut CD Coast to Coast in November of 2002, shows Easton hasn't lost an ounce of energy and is only more refined, yet raw with his sound.

Coast to Coast displays Easton's talents as frontman, guitarist and songwriter, with six tracks of blistering blues rock, reminding me of early Elvin Bishop. Blow It All Away was my favorite of the tracks available, with interesting time changes in the bridge, a great groove, good lyrics and exceptional slide guitar work.
Coast to Coast has already (unsurprisingly) received airplay and a number of reviews across Australia and Europe

Since recording Coast to Coast, Easton has brought in guitarist and former bandmate from The Candy Harlots, Peter Masi and has begun incorporating acoustic 'unplugged' sessions into their set. Limousine's follow up CD is scheduled for release in June of 2003.

On Coast To Coast Bondi songwriter Mark Easton delivers an interesting EP of dirty blues rock which conjures up serious images ot the beach side hedonism which doubtless inspired it. Easton sings powerfully, his soulful voice framing a guitar heavy musical base which is tight and busy, occasionally branching off into a crunching riff before sweeping back into the body of the song with a distinctive slide fill. Easton is a gun guitarist, flying off at irregular tangents and then whipping out his harmonica to rein it all in again. This is a relatively new project, but one imbued with a rare energy. In nineteen year-old drummer Jared Harrison and bassist Pete Copeland, Easton seems to have found the perfect foils for his explosive songwriting talents. May it all roll on further and further again. Zolton Zovos

Mark Easton Limousine – Coast To Coast EP (Rocketoon/MGM)
Bondi singer-guitarist Mark Easton and buddies know how to pump out some gritty slide-blues, don’t worry about that. But they also dig the value of occasionally departing from the central theme – and this gives them room to move here.
'Coast To Coast’ opens with tasty, yearning slide and acoustics.
'Blow It All Away’ is heavily riffed and one of the highlights. '
It Ain’t Heaven’ is neat stuff, while 'Rain In My Heart’ is a worthy finger-pickin’ ramble.
'Wormwood Kisses’ is more spacious and evocative – and another highlight. 'If You Don’t Want Me’ closes out with a more straight-up blues vibe.
Those vocals are a bit dodgy at times but, that aside, this is a fine collection of intense yet fun and broad-spanned blues-rock.
