Bandleader, banjo and guitar player, worked with many other great names in jazz, from Louis Armstrong to Billie Holiday, from Jack Teagarden to Fats Waller.
His career spans for more than 50 years (1920 to his last performance in 1972) andhe was also known as a great organiser of jazz concerts and events, including festivals and radio/tv broadcasts dedicated to the jazz world.
This album features several great performers such as Jack Teagarden, Gene Krupa, Bud Freeman, Mezz Mezzrow, Fats Waller and many more!
