Album Notes
Kirkland's newest album has it all! He speaks, he croons, he wails! His guitar grooves are tight, funky, and soulful!
Bluesy, edgy songs as only Kirkland can master. Includes an acoustic tribute to longtime Detroit Blues Brother, John Lee Hooker. Cutting edge material from a powerful musician! Be it your first Kirkland CD or the newest in your Kirkland collection, it is a must have!

George P. Seedorff of Detroit writes, To really understand this artist is to see him in actiion. Short of that this CD is recommended. Kirkland is still producing significant new, cutting-edge material that is often great, as evidenced by Booty Blues. "Beautiful Song" (track 4), "Small Town Girl" (track 6) and "I Cried" (track 9) are among this CD's highlights. What you get here are 12 new Kirkland originals that ought to supply top blues artists with excellent new cover tunes for years to come.

Eddie Kirkland is the real thing.
Eddie Kirkland is the real thing. After listening to "Booty Blues",Eddie's latest release, and thinking back to 1979-1980 at Tramps in New York City, I realize how much
I miss seeing Eddie perform. I once walked out of a Foreigner concert at Madison Square Garden because I knew Eddie was performing downtown. There is just no comparison.
His current CD is another masterful expression of Eddie's self. Always artistically honest and exciting. I have seen him through the years and he was always consistently great. I bought my first Eddie Kirkland LP,"The Devil And Other Blues Demons" directly from him. I have been listening to it ever since.
So here's to a life well led, to a life that has reached out to many and has had a profound effect on every listener. My Blues education got it's kick-start from Eddie

in a category all it's own: "cerebral booty Blues".
**** 1/2 Eddie Kirkland is probably more raw and primal than any Blues artist alive. At 83 Kirkland's voice is as expressive and potent as ever and he's still ahead of his time. This disc is an "experience" that is primal and earthy but it takes a brain to appreciate it deeper. So it's in a category all it's own: "cerebral booty Blues".

real blues by a truly great artist
eddie kirkland's music is strong, intense and powerful. No frills, just the soul of a bluesman. I'm really impressed, the music seems simple and repetitive but it goes right to the heart ( and to the rest ! )

I will not be surpised to see this product in the award nominations next year
This is a great cd. I made it my lead feature on WLRH and used five cuts: The production work is excellent, with good choices on band unisons with Eddie's guitar and some great contrapuntal work.

This version of Eddie's style should cause it to reach into the fanbase of the Hill Country/North Mississippi field of artists without a single copyistic note occuring--quite a notable feat.

I will not be surpised to see this product in the award nominations next year.
