ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Matthew 6:33 says "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." For three years now, I have been composing music as the very first thing I do for my work day each day. I consider it my current ministry and offered that first fifteen to thirty minutes of my day as a first fruits offering. I am aware that, technically, that's not exactly what first fruits are, and that most people do not interpret Matthew 6:33 as literally. But that morning composition time is what created all of the music on this album.

What I find most interesting is just how much can be accomplished in such short amounts of time when you do it every day. This album is almost two hours long. It's almost difficult to imagine how fifteen minutes per day can generate so much music. In a sense, it is a miracle.

One thing worth mentioning about this album is that I invested more time and effort into writing more "hymn like" compositions. I have thoroughly enjoyed recording my hymn albums and am delighted that people from all over the world are listening to that music; Unadorned Trumpet Hymns and Unadorned Trumpet Carols. The success of those two albums has inspired me to compose more of that kind of music myself.

Not all of the compositions on First Trumpet Fruits are "hymn like". There are a few modern sounding compositions and the rest of the pieces span across that spectrum between "hymn like" and modern.
