Album Notes
A young singer/songwriter/guitarist from Atlanta, GA, Eddy Shin was introduced to music at the tender age of six through the cello. As he grew, he became fascinated with the guitar and the ability to improvise and create music, rather than read it off of a sheet. Switching to guitar at 14 and self-teaching himself, he gradually honed his skills, listening to other guitarists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and Eric Johnson. He began using his guitar skills not only to play others' music, but also to write his own. Thus began his journey into attempting to record songs on his own. After a couple of years, he also began the arduous process of bringing his post-pubescent voice to maturity in order to be able to sing his own songs.

Going into college at the University of Georgia as a pre-med biochemistry major, he grew interested in furthering his ability to record, mix, and master and also met other musicians who were interested in playing his music. Nick Joiner and Louis Romanos joins him on the drums on some of the tracks of Grey Skies Clear, as well as Aaron Kang, who plays the bass. A couple of the tracks, "Rain" and "When Time Unwinds", were entirely composed, played (including drums, bass, and other instruments), and produced by Eddy. The album includes songs written from the beginning of his journey through music to the present and can be seen as a timeline of sorts.

Grey Skies Clear is the culmination of several years of struggling between passion and practicality and marks a crossroads, where Eddy is unsure about continuing a path to a career in medicine or pursuing a career in music.
