You've stumbled off the precipice. You're falling to certain death 5000 feet below. No parachute, so you strap on your headphones. It's gonna be the last music you'll ever hear. It must be honest, pure, ballsy, intelligent rock n roll. You're hurtling straight at the Earth so bring it, the new Edgar Pond album: Bleachnburn.(Stalker Records Inc. 2002). If you're gonna die, turn it up full.

The summer has ended
The harvest is in
Yet I see no future for me. - Scarecrow, Selection No. 5

Four New York City-area men are playing spill-the-guts rock n roll, my friend, as you warp-speed downward to your final stop. Yes, the gravity of your situation requires the heavy item: Edgar Pond - no bullshit, big city stuff with zero preening. Lead-man vocals from voice virtuoso Michael O'Neil. Sinuous chords by guitar man Ed Hester. The rhythm section's big smooth bass licks are courtesy of the quiet player, Tim Malone. That grounded solid drum-play is from the professor, Adam Accetta. It's over; you've stepped off this little planet.

If the truth means pain,
then lie to me'
Cause I don't wanna hurt no more
And if you will be leaving me
Just get out and say Goodbye. - Widow's Walk, Selection No

Edgar Pond's new album covers the gamut. Raw emotions, intelligence, high-energy, ballads stripped naked, hard in-the-face attitudes, all ripped from the deepest recesses of the heart and mind. In a few ticks of the clock you will cream-in. This band will rock and take you on down. So roll into your pathetic fetal position. Free-fall to a hard finish. You're a bag of grapes soon to be spattered into an insignificant splash of wine. Crush this!

This will be the death of me
I keep pouring it down the hatch
This may be the death of me - Bleachnburn, Title Selection No. 1

No, you don't black out when you're falling this fast. And no, you don't lose your senses. You hear clearly, so what band do you play for this Last Concert? Edgar Pond, my doomed friend. Down you go, roaring through the abyss while the band's relentless energy and truths pour into your temporal lobes! Down you plunge. Aaahhhh!! Now here it is! The Final Arrival! But! What? Can this be? You're alive! You've fallen it is true, but you've fallen...onto Edgar Pond. Enlightened, you venture forth to find this fine band playing all lit-up in concert.

To find the stone fun, the pure rock n roll, cool composure, some rowdiness, big league professionalism, honed like a steel knife. Lead man Michael tears it from his very soul, head held high. Bleachnburn.

- Bruce H. Alexander, September 5, 2002, in New York City

Truly rocks. Simply real strong writing.
This album just truly rocks from start to finish. It was really refreshing to hear a band like this among thousands of rock bands. They are on a different level. The songs on this album are heartfelt, well written, melodic yet eclectic. The best tracks I felt were Bleachnburn and Kluck. But there is also an incredibly moving, hidden acoustic track after the last song that I stumbled on. I am not sure why they have it hidden, because it stands out. Overall, very powerful album. This guy can sing too. Really sing.
