by Ed and Carol Nicodemi

We are a jazz vocal and guitar duo who were compelled back to our folk roots for the making of this all original album. We sprinkled in some Celtic, Island, Americana, and explored some new and fun instrumentation. Come on in and have a listen:)

Album Notes
For this Windows CD, you might find Ed playing strange instruments, which actually work for the songs, such as a Toy Piano, to create an Island ambience for Island Treasure. We did some experimenting, played some of the instruments ourselves, hired some awesome musicians to sit in and record on the sessions, and had a blast in the process! All of the songs are little vignettes that capture moments of our lives, both years ago and today. The stories are all real; Ordinary Joe is based on someone we knew. Windows, the song, was written earlier on, but its message is more important than ever in today's world. The same goes for Let a Flower Grow, crucial then and now to build awareness about the importance of preserving our environment. Save a Child is dedicated to those children who happened to be born in terrible circumstances, and a wake-up call for us to help. A Mother's Love was inspired by my incredible children and grandchildren. Hasta La Vista, My Baby, was lyricized by a hit songwriter, noted for Buddy Holly's Fool's Paradise, Sometimes it's necessary to temporarily leave your family to go off and make your fortune. Calling Back My Youth is a musical memoir recalling old friends and places. Long, Lonely Winter tells a universal tale of lost love: Island Treasure is everyone's dream vacation, an escape from the routine. When you are apart from the one you love Only Two Days seems like forever. Ed wrote this song when we were first dating, when he had the flu and wasn't able to see me. The last track on the album, Flowers and The Rain, was musically influenced by the Travis pickers of the '60's. Lost love is seen as another facet in the flow of life and nature.
