Album Notes
Edward Box is back with his second guitar instrumental solo album, Moonfudge.? The new album is the follow up to 2003's "Plectrumhead" and to follow this, in 2004 he appeared on the album "The Spirit Lives On: The Music of Jimi Hendrix Vol 1" with a bone crushing rendition of "Foxy Lady". Returning to the type of playing that first got him noticed, Ed has crafted an album in Moonfudge that traverses the six-string super highway with consummate ease. On the new material Edward comments, "It was a struggle to find inspiration and come up with new instrumental material, hence the long gap between this and "Plectrumhead". Overall I think it has turned out well and has a tighter and more compact sound and I feel that it is a worthy follow up and I know fans of quality guitar music will enjoy it".?

Edward Box - Moonfudge
Four years passed on since the first Eddie's solo release - "Plectrumhead" was recorded. Englishman doesn't play his solo repertoire only, but also is/was bound by some obligations in two bands: XLR8R (shall we utter it as "accelerator", haha?) and pop-rock group called Arch Stanton. Focusing our attention on "Moonfudge", I'd like you make aware of the fact that you won't be taken by surprise. Box's music is based on traditional, instrumental hard'n'heavy music with melodies all around the compositions' structures and groove components a little bit. When "Axis Of Evil" comes to your mind, you'll be aware how can instrumental version of Judas Priest sound! That track is a real hit on CD! I am sure that if one of Judas Priest's guitarists leave the band, Edward Box will stand in with no complexes, haha. However, in a track titled "Pasadena" I can smell Eddie Van Halen's and Satch's attendance, haha. If you get deeper into solo parts, you'll hear some distortions and melodies that are typical of movie atmosphere ("Big Screen Love Theme"). Apart from mentioned artists, my recommendations are flying towards Patrik Carlsson's and Neil Zaza's fanbase.

When one of my favourite guitar hero - BLUES SARACENO stop making albums, I was broken hearted.

Now I have EDWARD BOX.
