Album Notes
In the summer of 2018 I was commissioned by Brigid O'Neill and the Ulster Architectural Heritage society to write a song about the historic walls of Derry/Londonderry. I wanted to simultaneously tell the history of the walls and also to celebrate them for their unique attractiveness to visiting tourists from all over the world. My aim was to take the view of a local tour guide, showing a visitor what can be seen from the perspective of the walls. My hope is that both locals and tourists can join with me in singing "come take a walk with me" and appreciate what the walls have to offer, whilst learning a little of their history at the same time.
