Album Notes
As far back as Ann can remember, she loved music and performing. One of her favorite memories is her father playing his guitar and singing songs like "You are My Sunshine" and "A Frog Went A-Courtin". She fell in love with acoustic music and learned to play the guitar and a little piano as a girl.

Shortly after getting married and giving birth to her daughter Megan, Ann began recovering from sexual abuse and addictions and took a deep dive into her past, learning how it impacted her, how to let it go, and how to transform it into beauty. She explored many healing techniques over the years: psychotherapy, meditation, retreats, inner child work, Jungian dream analysis, body work, reiki, rebirthing, past-life regression; and studied at the School of Spiritual Psychology in Milwaukee, WI. With the help of many people, she steadily healed and began to dream.

Ann dreamed of sharing her story and inspiring others to heal through her music. After writing many songs, she found two musical companions, Sandy Weisto and Carrie Sanders, and they formed a folk trio called Sweet Diversity. Sweet Diversity performed a cappella, three-part harmony, and contemporary and traditional folk music. They released two CDs, Sweet Diversity (2000) and They Get That Way Underground (2004).

Ann left Sweet Diversity to devote her time and energy to recording and performing her own music. She released her first solo CD, I Surrender in 2008. I Surrender is a compilation of her early songwriting, which took place during an intense period of flashbacks from the sexual abuse, a divorce from her first husband, a short unhappy second marriage, and the beginning of what would become her third marriage. It reflects her acknowledgement of what happened, learning to feel her feelings, the growth of her self-esteem, and her deepening relationship with a higher power, who she calls God.

Ann continued to write songs as she began to experience the benefits of her healing work. She changed careers, took up yoga, found a spiritual community, and joyfully deepened her relationships with Megan and her husband Matt. She began recording her second and third solo CDs, The Only Way Out is Through and With a Little Help from My Friends, which she plans to release in 2013.

The Only Way Out is Through is a compilation of songs from the later years of Ann’s healing. It celebrates change, forgiveness, recovery, acceptance, and love. It includes percussion and a little keyboard in addition to Ann’s guitar, compliments of Martie Rocco. With a Little Help from My Friends is a collection of songs Ann wrote for friends who held house concerts for her. It tells stories about the gifts of friends and family, overcoming hard times, jobs lost and found, a friend’s 80th birthday, and more.

Ann performs songs from all four of her CDs, even those not recorded yet. She continues to dream even bigger, growing in body, mind, and spirit.

Your Love Brings My Heart Back Home
This is one of the most beautiful love songs I have ever heard. She makes you feel like it is truly being sung from her heart. Thank you Ann.
