Album Notes
Elkan & Face the Monster is a rock band based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Support our crusade to make more people smile, dance, think and turn the next corner in life. Face the Monster is about taking that one step into the dark, not knowing what happens next - we constantly challenge ourselves; music wise and performance wise.

The song Burn My Letters: I used to take my oldest son to kindergarten and everyday I passed a graffiti that said "I loved you always" - the use of past tense when talking about eternity stuck in my head. That's what love is: a moment of eternity. But what when you realize it wasn't. It was just time passing: I couldn't leave it be. I tried not to play music for 4 years, and couldn't. I had to write that song and more songs came along. Old songs, new songs. I decided to give it a final shot and only do my own songs instead of playing weddings, birthdays, company summer parties etc. playing Bon Jovi, Britney Spears, Lionel Richie, Beatles, Elvis... why? When I had something that needed to be written, not better, just had to.

When you hear my songs, listen to the lyrics. There are people behind everyone of them, and it's not teenage illusions of an eternal party with beautiful people or a perfect, happy life ;-) it's just the way life is.

Yours Truly

Mikael Elkan
