Album Notes
EMMA KATE TOBIA is a classically trained soprano who melds her pure lyrical voice with the timeless melodies of her Irish heritage. She is a multiple award winning artist who has a grá or love for Irish Song which is reflected in her Debut CD, ‘Aisling na nGael’ (An Irish Dream)- available to purchase on CDbaby.com and through their digital partners ITunes and others.
Irish America Magazine wrote:” This album is a haunting fusion of sean-nós singing with choral and orchestral backing, truly beautiful!.”
Emma Kate has toured all over the USA and her connection with the St Patrick’s Day Parade Committee in New York has led to her video of the old Irish Song Óró 's é Do Bheatha 'Bhaile opening the NBC coverage of the New York St Patrick's Day Parade in 2010 after she had been invited to ring the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the St Patrick's Day Parade in New York in 2011 she performed with her group (“An Irish Dream “) alongside The High Kings and Michael Flatley at their Gala Ball.
- President Barak Obama gave her a kiss after she sang the US National Anthem for him at the College Green Rally, in Dublin in May of this year.
” This singer delights with her interpretation"…Derek Davis
" she is dubbed as Ireland’s angelic soprano. I have observed time and time again how she skillfully switches her singing, from Sean-nós to operatic, with an ease of a giselle. -The Celtic Music Fan USA blog
