Album Notes
After living in NYC for twelve years, Erica von Kleist found peace and tranquility in the gorgeous mountains of Northwestern Montana. There she gained the clarity to produce her third album Alpine Clarity, a musical representation of the crisp, clean wilderness, and Erica's first all-flute record. Featuring Gerald Clayton (piano), Richie Barshay (cajon), Rebecca Nelson (wood flute) and Don Caverly (bass), Alpine Clarity is neither a jazz nor classical album. It is, as Erica calls it, "interpreted" music. The album features some traditional "classical" repertoire for flute and piano, but interpreted by improvisers who are influenced by jazz, Latin, and Brazilian, and modern music.
