Album Notes
Eric Chase is an American singer/songwriter whose musical roots extend back to his childhood in the 1950's. He became a professional musician in his teens in the 1960's, playing bass for an L.A. area band called the Gross National Product. Events from that era served to temporarily quell his thirst for public adventure, and Eric became a songwriter, forgoing live performance. Fast forward to 2015 and Eric has just released 13 single tracks recorded in 2007 at River City Recording in Roseville, California, produced by Richie Ayers (available elsewhere on his CD Baby Artist page), and now here we have Eric's second collection of songs, recorded in 2014 and 2015 at All Aspects Recording in Simi Valley, California. The producer of this second album, entitled In Grace Again, is Shannon O'Neill. On this release Eric plays acoustic guitar and keyboards, and sings lead and harmony vocals. The lineup of supporting musicians includes supremely talented and deeply experienced artists, including Leland Sklar (bass), David Kemper (drums), Dan Ferguson (guitars and mandolin), Scarlet Rivera (violin) and Lenny Castro (percussion), with supporting vocals by Shannon O'Neill and Steven Sutherland. The songs are aimed squarely at an adult audience, and the subject matter embraced is purposefully powerful and deep. Not your average pop album, and not for the timid, this rich work reflects 50 years of living and songwriting in the real world, where it is understood that the longer one survives, the more commonly profound and compelling things will happen.
