ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Described as “eloquent” (Dallas Morning News) and “spellbinding . . . a disciplined musician beyond his years” (San Antonio Express News), 25-year-old violinist Eric Gratz is rapidly gaining recognition as a major musical personality. In his debut album, Mr. Gratz teams up with virtuoso pianist Euntaek Kim in a collection of some of the most treasured works of the violin repertoire. Gratz has performed as soloist on three continents with leading orchestras including Cleveland and San Antonio, in venues such as the Kennedy Center and Severance Hall, and with preeminent conductors such as Giancarlo Guerrero and Sebastian Lang-Lessing. He plays on the "ex-Stern" Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume violin, arguably the greatest specimen that the French master ever produced. Gratz made history with his appointment as concertmaster of the San Antonio Symphony when he was just 22 years old.
