In August 2004, Jason, one of New York City’s most sought-after guitarists, suffered a brain hemorrhage during a concert in Manhattan. That night at the hospital, the doctors told Jason’s family—if he makes it through the night, there won’t be much left of him. Jason’s wife, Monica, pregnant at the time, froze. “Everything completely stopped. I forgot all about the pregnancy. I think I left my body. I remember thinking, ‘This cannot be true. I cannot go on without Jason.’”

Days passed, and Jason’s family was forced to accept the new dark reality at hand. But they refused to accept the dark future described by doubtful doctors. So in the face of wrenching despair and horrifying odds, the Criglers made a resolution—Jason will make a full recovery. And thus began the long, grueling, implausible and mystifying journey chronicled in Life. Support. Music.

Liebman recently finished composing and recording the score to Eric Daniel Metzgar's "Life. Support. Music.," a feature-length documentary about Jason Crigler, one of New York City's most sought-after guitarists, who suffered a devastating brain hemorrhage during a 2004 concert. The film chronicles Crigler's family's Herculean efforts to help him survive and recover. In April 2008, "Life. Support. Music." had its World Premiere at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, and it won the 2008 Audience Award ("Documentary" category) at the Independent Film Festival Boston. This film was also screened at the HotDocs International Film Festival and is slated to appear at many other festivals.

The soundtrack to "Life. Support. Music.," featuring two songs from the film's subject, musical genius Jason Crigler, is now available for purchase in CD or mp3 format.

Liebman also composed and recorded the score to "The Chances of the World Changing" (2006), the first feature-length documentary by Eric Daniel Metzgar. "Chances" was nominated for a 2007 Film Independent Spirit Award and was part of PBS's 2007 "P.O.V." series. The film premiered at the Full Frame Documentary Festival, and was also shown at the HotDocs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival, the Seattle International Film Festival, The Museum of Television and Radio's DocFest, and over 20 other festivals.

Liebman scored Metzgar's 2008 short film "Beholder" (winner of the Doc Challenge "Original Vision" award), also contributed music to the recently-released documentaries "All of Us," directed by Emily Abt (Pureland Pictures), and "La Americana," the first feature-length documentary by Nicholas Bruckman (People's Television). Liebman is currently scoring Robert Greene's "Owning the Weather" (4th Row Films), an epic documentary exploring the history and science of weather modification (cloud seeding, hurricane diversion, etc.).

Liebman is a founding member of the electronic rock group Audio Ovni. In 2005, Audio Ovni released the "Control Room Secondee" CD, which was recorded and co-written by Eric.
