Album Notes
Saxophonist Eric Person and drummer Shinnosuke Takahashi join forces to form DuoScope.
After starting "TrioKinesis" the group that features both Eric and Shinnosuke along with bassist Joe Lepore, they both recognised a mutual desire to combine their musical powers and sensibilities to develop a drum/sax duo project. Two years of practicing and recording together have brought their extra sensory brand of interplay to a high level.

Since coming to New York City from Saint Louis Missouri, Eric Person has performed and recorded with and alongside a who's who of legends in jazz such as Dave Holland, McCoy Tyner, David Murray, Sam Rivers, John Hicks, Wallace Roney, Vernon Reid, Ronald Shannon Jackson, Chico Hamilton, John Esposito, Chris Joris, Dave Douglas and many more.
Person was a pivotal member of the Dave Holland Quartet. It was a great band who's success culminated in the classic cd on ECM Records, "Dream of the Elders." Person was also a band member of the World Saxophone Quartet, recording Moving Right Along for the Black Saint label.
DuoScope is Person's 10th CD as a leader.
