Album Notes
The best Eric Vincent CD with ten amazing songs beyond norms and fashions. This Eric Vincent’s new album is a magnificent journey among some of the highs and lows of life, with a distinct undercurrent of joy and affirmation. His finely honed lyrics reference several other artists :
• “L’or de l’instant”, capstone and title of this new album, was inspired by Albert CAMUS’ “Myth of Sisyphus”
• “Les Bosses dans le jardin” references Italian novelist Dino BUZZATI
• “Alfred” is an homage to Alfred Jarry
• “Peinture hongroise” is dedicated to the painter, Tivadar CSONTVARY
• “Etrange mélancolie”, written with Georges MOUSTAKI, will be the first single along with • “Ma libido”, a reggae with a rather humorous message…
• “Le Jardin suspendu” composed when the singer was on tour in Angola and G.W. Bush was deciding to invade Iraq.
• “Si je marche à tatons", • “Prière à l'enfant", • “Fleurs des ondes"
All those musical compositions are exceptionally beautiful and richly layered and well served by superb musicians as well as by Eric’s own distinctive voice and outstanding guitar.

This singer-songwriter has an exceptional and singular career. He has appeared in over 140 countries where he returns regularly, performing for audiences which are, on the whole, not French-speaking. He speaks several languages and is able to communicate with his audiences in their own language. One day, he headlines the program at the Hanoi Opera or the Manaus Opera in Brazil, on another he’s in front of 3,000 people at Ancol in Jakarta or, again, a crowd of several thousand fans in Haiti, where he has been inspired to compose his beautiful "Haiti Kimbe Fo'".
Eric VINCENT is nourished by these multicolored successes. His songs are published in the U.S. in French textbooks used in high schools, colleges and Universities. The French publisher, Didier/Hachette, picked up the idea and published “Si on chantait avec Eric Vincent”, which has made its way around the world.
