Coiled Like Springs

by Erin Brown

Acoustic music with some sparkle: catchy melodies, careful organ, sweeping cello, and a little ukulele for good measure. Peppy sometimes, lyrically thoughtful always.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"He was an intellectual, and although he wasn't important, maybe he would have been important if he had lived longer, maybe great books were coiled within him like springs, books that could have separated inside from outside." Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer

Coiled Like Springs is my pretty little foray into the vast wonderland of professionally recorded music. It was recorded at Studio M in Durham NC with Mark Simonsen (of the Old Ceremony), magic maker Thom Canova, and Mark's big chocolate lab Max (who mostly just supplied tail wags). Recorded now and then between June 2009 and June 2010, it's acoustic, alternative folky, singer/songwritery music with the sparkle of organ, mandolin, ukulele, drums, and cello, with some songs stripped down, bare naked (which has a sparkle all its own). It's my lyric heavy, melodic offering, and I do hope you enjoy it.
