ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Nashville recording history was made in 1979 when legendary steel guitarist, producer Pete Drake introduced "The Legend and the Legacy" a compilation of Ernest Tubb classics. Pete (unknown to Ernest at the time) brought in various artists...all friends, peers, and fans of E.T. Together they paid him one of the highest compliments any artist could ever receive by the recording of this historical package. This was the first time anything of this magnitude had ever been done in Nashville. To make a long story short it turned into one of Pete Drake's many "Success Stories."

Now for the very first time, these original recordings, E.T.'s last sessions are available as they were originally recorded. Some 47 tracks of the very best of Ernest Tubb, his all-time greatest hits. This is definitely E.T. at his best.
