Album Notes
Escapist Papers is a New York City-based rock band. They blend Beatles-y song-writing, Brian May meets Van Halen guitar playing, and Zeppelin style grooves. Songwriter Benjamin Scheuer sings and plays guitar. He is joined by Geoff Kraly on bass, Vinnie Sperrazza and Josh Dion on drums. Gerry Leonard, who plays guitar with David Bowie and Rufus Wainwright, plays some guitar on the record.
There are also keyboards, pianos, and other wild noises...

Benjamin grew up in New York, and was sent to boarding school in England at age 16- he’s been escaping ever since.

This record was recorded and produced by Benjamin in
his home recording studio, aided by engineer/guru Peter Denenberg.

It is a record about travel and escapism. The ‘narrator’ first imagines himself on Christopher Street in Greenwich Village, then in Tokyo, Paris and London, the early 20th century, and in the mind of a twisted cabaret singer, only to arrive back at home in himself.

What a great CD!
I saw this band play in NYC and man, did they rock! I had the songs stuck in my head all week, especially tracks 1 and 6. Check these guys out if you like to rock.

Phil E. Stein

Love the hits! Makes me wanna chomp a cigar.
This kid is like John Mayer with nuts! I should never have put you on tour with the Booze Unit. Word is Angry Lion's getting back together with a reunion tour in support of their new compilation, "Greatest Tits." Hurricane's opening. We can get you on the bill for that. I'm gonna make you millions. You'll be a star. Just sing here, here, here, and there. Don't bother reading the fine print. Just get in touch with my assistant. She's got a big mouth, and big you know what, but she knows how to treat an artist, respectable like. Hey, Denise, DENISE! Get this guy a Diet Coke. Hey, Benji, you like Diet Coke, right? Other Side of the World will be my biggest hit since I Caught You With the Clown! I'm gonna go buy another car now.
