Album Notes
"Revelatory" (describing the song "For the Record")
KSCU DJ - Santa Clara, CA 103.3 FM

"This is a solid first outing from a growing band, so check it out. Pay special attention to “My Father,” Viewfinder,” and “Honey & Dear,” with Gary Jules."
-Lucas Walker

Esquimaux is the collaboration of vocalist Heather Brown, songwriter Graham Dodge, and songwriter/producer James Sajor. Their unique blend of folk inspired vocals with layered distorted guitar over pop-melodic chord progressions can be traced to their previous work with other bands. Heather had been singing and touring with Gary Jules in his band the Group Rules. James, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music, previously played bass for the influential D.C. screamo band, Anasarca and has also played in Genn Branca's "Hallucination City - Symphony No.13 for 100 Guitarists". The trio came together in April of 2004 and began to write songs that led to their debut EP, released just months later in September. Encouraged by local radio play and a growing fan base, Esquimaux continues to perform and record new material. When playing live, have been joined by bassists Grahm Baker, Mike Sattin and drummer Al Sgro.

Esquimaux can be heard and requested on Nic Harcourt's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" in Los Angeles at 89.9 KCRW or globally online at KCRWmusic.com. You can also hear Esquimaux on Insomnia Radio podcasts.
