ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Essential Hazard began as a monthly jam session with four Boston area musicians who desired an outlet for creative improvisation beyond the more mainstream jazz, funk and world music groups they were playing in at the time. Excited about the sound, they decided to write some tunes and record an album to capture some of the creative energy flowing from this union. The result is a fresh, eclectic mix of rhythmically interesting modern jazz, improvisation, and progressive-rock fusion. The music is diversely influenced by artists such as Dave Douglas, Return To Forever, David Torn, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Miles Davis, Wallace Roney, Masada, Tribal Tech, Terje Rypdal, and many other subconcious influences...
