Album Notes
The sound of Central American and Afro-Cuban rhythms find a common ground through the most popular Costarrican melodies from all times. In "Tico Groove" Esteban Alvarez captures the essence of the folk music of Costa Rica in the most elegant expression of latin jazz and organic styles. In order to accomplish this emblematic old-school sound, Esteban is accompanied by Ignacio Berroa (Dizzy Gillespie's drummer) and Lynn Seaton (Count Basie's bass player), among other great musicians that give a very pluralistic and world-music seal to his music.

Esteban, a native citizen from Costa Rica, carries the message of his own home country: "No artificial ingredients".
