ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
At the end of the 60’s, the first International Folk Dance Festival took place in Kishinev. For the final part of the program, which was to take place on the central city square, it was required to compose music for a grand dance piece accompanied by singing. The poet I. Podoleanu contributed poetry for the future project and I improvised this hora in his presence. The notes and the music were distributed to the participating collectives and a grandiose dance show involving a few thousand of dancers and choir singers was performed on the central square to conclude the festival program. We entitled this piece The Friendship Hora (The circle dance of friendship).
