Album Notes
In a nutshell: The first cassette tape I ever bought was the Karate Kid soundtrack--funny, right? And even though I sound nothing like them, I was into Guns ‘N’ Roses and Nirvana growing up. My first instrument was a saxophone, but I didn’t really play guitar or sing until high school. It was around that time that I began writing songs, and I’ve been tinkering with it ever since.

Recording this EP was fun, but it was kind of like moving a very, very large futon mattress—-burdensome at times, unwieldy, but entirely necessary. Much of the material for these songs has come from the people that I’ve met over the past few years, kind of a character study if you will. It’s about disappointment, being genuine, fear, hope, and the often misunderstood word, “no”. Thank you to those of you who helped me through the project. You know who you are.

All the proceeds from the sale of the EP, Honestly, will go to benefit The Anacostia Gracious Arts Program, an after-school organization that provides Christian fellowship for the youth of Anacostia (in Washington, DC) through arts education. They’re a worthwhile organization—-please help me support them!
