Album Notes
Eva James was born to a family of singers and was a professional vocalist for many years before she began writing. Her "Love & War" cd combines many styles and eras of popular music including Rock, Country, Latin, and Swing.

The title reflects the challenges and volatility of modern love, managing passion, communication, and individuality within relationships, and the changing roles between men and women.

The songs are sensitive, and sometimes angry, personal accounts of her life, family, and relationships, reflecting the tug of war between pleasing others and self

Strong Songs, Strong Lyrics, and Fiery Vocals
Fresh, new, and catchy with searing vocals that wet's your musical appetite for more. You hear this CD once and you'll have to hear it again. In today's music world it's difficult to find an artist with a fresh sound of their own. Eva James CD, Love and War, is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Intelligent commentary on society
Staring off with a testament to the state of the Land of the Free, Eva James delivers her political message effectively whilst her voice evokes Carly Simon and Rickie Lee Jones. Her liberal sentiments are also found in other songs on this album such as “Balcony” and “Brother”. “Paradigm” shows a softer side to her song writing aided by some effective, jazzy guitar work from Mark Haynes. Best track was “Good Life” that reflects the changing role of women in society against a classy piece of pop-rock.
Feisty and clearly unafraid to speak her mind, Eva James has given us a mature collection of songs that make us think. Wrapped up in a slickly produced, immaculately arranged package, you might miss just how intelligent these songs are on the first listen. When you return for the second listen (and you will), you will therefore appreciate it even more.
