ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
EVANGELINE is a six-piece country band from Glasgow, Scotland. They have hit the road running during the past year, wowing audiences with their original country music. BEER TALKIN' is the band's first album and features 14 self-penned songs covering a wide range of styles within the genre. What do they sound like? Well, if you imagine Hank Williams meeting Garth Brooks at an Eagles gig in Glasgow, that's not a bad start!

From the traditional country sounds of "Hanky Panky" and "Drink and Cocaine" through the honky-tonk energy of "Dirty Cheatin' Man" to the driving country rock of "Fightin' For My Eight Cents", or from the hoedown groove of "Burning Heat" through the beautiful "You're Already Gone" to the hauntingly melancholic "Dark Skies", you can be sure there is something here to please all country music lovers.

Evangeline tips its hat to modern country, too, with "Shame On You" and "I Think I've Just Fallen In Love". The definitive Evangeline sound is captured on "Say You'll Marry Me", "If I Can Let Them Go" and "Flying On The Wings Of An Angel", while "Run With The Devil" celebrates a unique fusion of Celtic stomp with alt-country attitude! There's even a songwriter's demo cut included, where Willie Evans (band manager and producer) performs his tribute to Harlan Howard, "03/03/02", as a bonus track!

This album is a timeless collection of country music which, while created in Scotland and digitally mastered in Nashville, will be enjoyed the world over. Evangeline's work has already been acclaimed by some of the biggest names in Music City's songwriting circles, and Beer Talkin' is the living, working embodiment of what can be achieved when clever songcraft meets talented musicianship. Enjoy!

British country music at its best - buy this album!
Evangeline's long awaited CD is now released and it was worth the wait! 14 original tracks showcasing the songwriting talent of the band... all co-written by John Naismith and Willie Evans with input from other members on certain tracks. The musicians excel throughout the album especially Davie Holland on steel and John Permenter on fiddle. A good well produced country album, the vocals never drowned out by the musicians. I could not pick out any track as a favourite, as all are excellent. Evangeline rock on "Fightin' For My Eight Cents"; you can feel the pain of lost love and solace sought in "Drink and Cocaine"; on "Run With The Devil", Evangeline create the Celtic Cajun Country Stomp! Great fiddle, strong vocals and an energetic track. "Dirty Cheatin' Man" is a traditonal cheating Western Swing number. As a bonus we get to hear Willie Evans sing his tribute to Harlan Howard -"03/03/02" If you want to hear British country music at its best, buy this album!"

Go buy this album! It's a MUST for your collection!
The long awaited CD from Scotland's 'Evangeline' is now out! WOW! It was well worth waiting for, make sure you get a copy!! Lead singer George Adams makes a great job of all the songs and top fiddle player John Permenter has added his touch. Special mention must go to Davie Holland, surely one of the best steelies around today (and, of course, the newest member of the band!) All the songs were written by the members of the band, including manager Willie Evans. Well done guys! You really should contact the band's manager Willie Evans to find out how to get your copy, I promise you - you won’t regret it!

Excellent first effort; nice work!
I'm not a big country fan, but know a couple of the artists from my time in Glasgow area in mid-80's. I live in Texas, where Country is king, and I tend to gravitate to modern country. This album had a nice range, excellent musicians, and good new songs. My personal favorites were Flying On the wings...; Fightin' for my eight cents, and Run with the devil. I'll buy their next, for sure!
