ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
E-Von is the pseudonym for Ivan Rafowitz, a multi-keyboardist musician, composer and producer of contemporary music.
E-Von first arrived on the Minneapolis music scene in the early 70's. A multi- keyboardist, working with top local talent he formed and led some of the most popular bands of that era focusing on smooth groove rock, blues and funk.
As the Minneapolis music scene began receiving national attention in the late 70's, E-Von helped form and became keyboardist and musical director of the group Lipps, Inc. that recorded the international hit "Funkytown" which earned him a gold record. Through the 80's E-Von continued performing with his own bands as well as playing on stage and in concert with legendary musicians such as blues artist Taj Mahal, guitarist Cornell Dupree, singer Bonnie Raitt and Weather Report drummer Eric Gravatt and others. An accomplished keyboardist with a distinct bluesy jazz-funk style, he also developed his composing and producing skills recording with a variety of local and national artists.
E-Von shifted his focus from the music scene in the early 90's and spent the next several years working in the corporate world and raising a family. Although he seldom had time to perform, he never lost his passion for music and spent much of his free moments composing and continuing to hone his musical skills while volunteering to perform at various charity events.
During this time his son Adam (The Time Minister) began expressing interest in music and showed talent on the guitar at a very early age. Adam started private guitar lessons at age 7 and quickly began developing his skills. Frequently jamming with his Dad and other accomplished musicians, he early on showed a natural ability for improv and an excellent sense of time. Adam started his first band when he was 12 called "The Union" and they soon began playing gigs for charities and special events. Through high school Adam formed and played in several groups and expanded his musical ability exploring various styles from Rock and Funk to Jazz. Passionate about his music, Adam decided to pursue it as a career and in his junior year of high school auditioned for entrance into the prestigious Berklee College of Music. One of a select few, he was given early acceptance to the college and began his first semester at Berklee in the fall of 2011. Adam is currently a guitar performance major at Berklee and plays in 2 bands performing in the Boston area. He plans to graduate in spring 2015 with a Bachelor of Music degree.
Inspired by his son's talent and his own continued love and passion for music, E-Von felt it was time to refocus on his music. In the spring of 2012 with Adam on guitar and E-Von on keys this father and son duo began recording "Dually Noted", a mixture of blues, funk and smooth groove jazz with memorable hooks and melodies and soaring tasteful solos.
