Album Notes
EVY MAYER sings and plays ukulele, guitar, dumbek and a host of other percussion instruments. Evy has been involved in folk music since the 1960s, from her first open mike at the Café Wha to her present role as a producer of albums. She currently performs with Jean Farnworth as "Double Trouble," with Phyllis Elkind and Don Friedman as "Triboro," and also sings and leads workshops with the other members of "The Rounds Galore... and More Singers" (Sol "Roundman" Weber, Jan Maier and Murray & Randi Spiegel). Evy frequently does programs for children and seniors, as well as performing solo or with one of her groups. She has produced six albums: "Triboro," "Humor Me!," "Rounds Galore... and More, Vol. I and II" (companions to the popular book, "Rounds Galore"), as well as "Soup To Nuts" and "Born To Shop" (both Double Trouble albums). Evy is a long-time Board member of the Folk Music Society of New York. Evy has appeared on "CBS Sunday Morning," playing her ukulele. She has also had her music played or personally appeared on radio shows hosted by Oscar Brand, Christine Lavin, Bob Sherman, Peter Schickele, and others around the country. Meet a cast of characters that includes Edna, Boris, Rubber Duckie, Oedipus Rex amd assorted vegetables as they take you on a fun-filled journey from the frozen wastes of Siberia to the Island of Manhattan, stopping en route in Wisconsin, Long Island, Kealakekua (HI), the barnyard and the living room.
