Album Notes
The Danish-Swiss Electro Rock Band Fanoe are back after releasing their debut album Empire Dirt in 2005. The new album Down to Heaven is, as the title suggests, rather contradicting and has as a central theme the collapse and perversion of our sterile and impersonal consumer society. Fanoe combine analogical and electronic elements with rock and dirt in a way that makes it hard to cupboardise. The complexity of the arranged songs are being drilled into the system after hearing them repeatedly. There they stay for good. It isn’t muzak and you can be damn sure it will never be.

Genuine, independent and underground are the buzzwords behind the new album of Fanoe. The album was recorded and mixed in a home studio. Even the artwork of the CD Digipacs was designed by the lead singer of the band. The artwork was chosen to create a harmonious entity. While having the album mastered by Enrico Mercaldi of Timetools Studio (Placebo, Yello, Depeche Mode, Moby…) the focus was on tubetechnique to remain true to the whole concept.

Past/Future: with their debut album Empire Dirt the band managed to call attention to themselves in the international press. They managed to satisfy their audience as the opening band of The Sisters of Mercy and at the Wave Gothic gathering in Leipzig. With their new album as a kickoff, the new Video “I Am” and a new live set Fanoe will surely attract interest in the near future…

a brilliant, super-sexy and high voltage work of art
Fanoe will pumble your eardrums and minds into beautiful exhaustion with their second album “Down To Heaven”--- a brilliant, super-sexy and high voltage work of art.

Fanoe, thank you so much for your AMAZING album---I salute you…I’m highly, highly impressed with “Down To Heaven” so much so, that I’ve torn off my acrylic nails because I was so revved up with adrenaline!

The title track “Down To Heaven”, slammin’ hot! “I Am”, “Sweet Nothing”, “Skin And Bones”, “Passion”, “Medicine Man” (the music in this piece should become famous…it’s a masterpiece of sounds), “Burn In Hell”, “Lover Undercover”(this song has blazing red light action about getting down and dirty…it’s such a sensuous song, that, “shy” need not apply…way to fun and sexy of a song not to want to dig your fingers deep into the steaming flesh of your lover. “One More Day” and “Innocent” like the rest, each in their rightful way are astonishing…making it extremely difficult to choose which ones outdo the others. Depending on ones mood is where you’ll find yourself gravitating. Enjoy the ride---you’re going to be all over this album!

Fanoe is luscious, gyrating electro-sizzle, and the incredibleness of the songs just keeps getting more and more intense, fabulous, sweaty, and so loudly sexy, that I flippin’ out crazy and don’t want to stop listening to it!

I’m floored beyond dizziness! So lovin’ the new album “Down To Heaven”… the deadly strong vocals of Klaus, which strike me down hard…with every song; and the music, such a turn on---I need an ice bath…well, not yet…I’m still too wound up…too great of a feeling to let go.

More brilliant and exiting music I am looking forward to, for a long time coming---you’re an AWESOME and TALENTED band Fanoe---LOVE what you have created, and inspired in me. My best…always. You must check them out---they’re so HOT…but most of all, so TALENTED!
