ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
FarmStrong features four acoustic musicians from the northwest corner of the US of A. Jim Faddis (vocals, rhythm guitar and songs), Cort Armstrong (lead guitar and vocal support), Rick Meade (dobro and vocal support) and John Pyles (upright bass) all draw from a wide range of their musical influences, but they all stand on a solid foundation of bluegrass and traditional country performance experience, which distills their unique song selections into a pretty distinctive and potent blend.

"Don't Go Down That Road" is the third album by the acoustic quartet. The title track is one of two original songs by FarmStrong's front man, Jim Faddis, but the album is a pure celebration of songs and songwriting, drawing on some of Faddis' major songwriting inspirations, such as Kate Wolf, Townes Van Zandt, and John Prine, and also mining into some of the band's major musical influences, such as the Coasters, Ray Charles, the Temptations, Rev. Gary Davis, Bonnie Raitt, and Crosby, Stills and Nash. One thing can be said about each and every song on the CD... each song comes to life and stares the listener in the face.
