ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
CONTEST OF STRENGTH ~ Songs on this record contain lyrics that depict all kinds of reactions to the Power of God offered to us. I use the word “CONTEST,” to describe the interaction between our will and God’s will. Each song offers a scenario of the two wills, mine and God’s. ~ “Magnificat”, contains the perfect openness to God’s will being done in our lives; it’s Mary’s whole being (fiat) available to the power of the Holy Spirit filling her. The final track is called Vista Hymn (Hymn with a View). It’s us, the Church, with clear vision, offering due praise, thanksgiving and glory to God. And, every song in between shines a light on the Contest of Strength: “My will or Yours, Lord? Can I afford to listen to anyone’s voice, but the Lover of my soul?”
