Built on a sound that has been developed and polished in the coffee shops, night clubs, festivals and venues of Southern California, Fawkes has emerged from the studio like a phoenix from the ashes to bring us a new CD. “Curiosity and Consequence” is the newest collection of songs from Fawkes. Long time collaborators Shaun Marron and Eric Lisardo have worked together for over a decade to polish and refine their sound. Having worked together in musical unions such as Idyllwild and The Low Men, they have built a synchronistic momentum that comes through in each song of the album and each live performance played. The Fawkes CD “Curiosity and Consequence” is a culmination of musical maturity and creative freedom that only comes from being independent artists. This collection of original material includes “Our Life” a slow lament to the discomfort of isolation and separation from love. A favorite live performance piece that has finally been captured in the studio is “Hang My Head,” A moving piece that asks the difficult questions that many dare not speak openly set to a bluesy guitar that has an edgy musical grace. The newest songs titled “Drive You Home”, “Pass It On”, “Try It Again” and “Echo” all came from recent collaborations and a renewed drive to create great music that appeals to the listener both musically and lyrically. Rounding out the album is “Mulch” an upbeat ode to a past love and the welcoming of spring after a dismal winter. The final track is “Lullaby” a hauntingly good song that evokes images of a slow merry-go-round spinning reflections of the day in nostalgic detail. These two songs were penned during Marron and Lisardo’s earlier projects as the Low Men. These songs have now been brought to their true potential on Curiosity and Consequence.

Fawkes plan on doing heavy promotion of “Curiosity and Consequence” so look for them in your area soon.
