Album Notes
Fertanish returns with his second album, further converting recurring patterns and samples into rich, compelling compositions. Following up the manic Zero Zero Three, Contemplating Silent Wishes is a patient, brooding experience slowly traveling a beautiful, yet uneasy, musical journey.

Fertanish is Bill Murphy from Washington D.C., a lifelong musician and visual artist presenting an experimental, minimalist, noise-rock music project composing songs from rhythms and sounds of our environment. Early Fertanish songs focused on the full sound of acoustic 12-string guitars, hammering on the strings to create pounding reverberations that produced a wall of sound without the aid of distortion or effects. From that foundation, Fertanish began creating complex compositions with dark, looping rhythms, heavy beats, and experimental paths of sound.

In 2011, the first release from Fertanish, Zero Zero Three, debuted eleven tracks creating music from the harsh sounding D.C. landscape to the intricate samples of nature that surround the constant mania with beauty. In 2012, Contemplating Silent Wishes presented a methodical composition, building from minimal sounds to a climax of sensational waves.

Fertanish releases are available on both CD and Digital Download distributed by its self-promoting label, Plus Noise.

Some reviews about Fertanish's previous release, Zero Zero Three:

Fertanish ensures that the listener will be jarred out of complacency and exposed to some highly toxic sonic environments. - Chain D.L.K.

The band experiments with a multitude of sounds and instruments to create an almost chaotic work of art. - JP's Music Blog
