ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
On February 28, 2016, The Robbin Thompson Band, fellow musicians, performers, friends and fans gathered at The National Theater in Richmond, Virginia, for a packed house performance to honor and celebrate the memory, life and music of Robbin Thompson.
“Final Encore — A Live Tribute to Robbin Thompson” captures that evening in a double-disc collection of all of the show’s music as well as select stories and memories shared by the musicians from the stage.
The show was a confirmation of Robbin’s songwriting talent and a demonstration of the power of music to inspire and bring people together. This CD captures that spirit and brings it back to life.
While mixing the CD, the band uncovered a demo of a song Robbin wrote shortly before his death. They took his guitar and vocal tracks into the studio and went to work on it to create one last piece as The Robbin Thompson Band. That song, “Solid Ground," is included on this CD as a bonus track. It is truly the band’s final encore.
