Album Notes
Let me tell you a little about myself and my first album called Finding Freepoint. I love music, but my life had nothing to do with music in any formal sense. Instead, my husband and I owned an oilfield service company specializing in solving downhole problems.
The album title comes from my experience in the oilfield. When pipe gets stuck in an oil well for any number of reasons, we would send a tool, called the freepoint, to tell us where the pipe was stuck. How can something be set free if you don’t know where it is stuck?

Then we would send an explosive shock inside the well. If that didn’t work, we would jar the pipe. When all else failed, we would pour endless streams of water into the hole to wash the pipe. As you can see, setting pipe free can be a long and tedious process.

Becoming truly free in life is much like this downhole process: Find out where you are stuck. Receive a shock. Be jarred by circumstances. Be washed by the Word of God.

This music, each song with its own story, is a gift from On High. Its journey has led to finding my own personal freepoint! I hope, as you listen to the words and music, you become profoundly aware of the Kingdom Life your Creator has for you starting today….no longer stuck but set free!

Finding Freepoint has been a five year labor of love. It began when I was awakened by a song, words and music, at 3:00 a.m. In my wildest imaginings, I could not know that other songs were to follow. This is why I refer to myself more as a song receiver and less as a songwriter.

At first, I thought the songs were for my comfort during one of life's dark valleys. They became my new best friends. Gradually, I began to understand that these songs were being sent through me, not only to me. They are evidence of God's presence. That these songs ever came to form this album shows God can make a way where there is no way!

So to you, Dear Listener, my heart's desire is that you will come to know how much God wants to live in relationship with you. Most of all, I hope you will meet the Truth that makes you free.

I pray your seeking will lead to your...Finding Freepoint.

Oh, My Jesus Song Story
Over the last few years, I have been left dumbstruck by the songs I have received and the varying ways they have been delivered. But Oh, My Jesus, like If I Have Understood, was sent through me immediately after I had confessed sin and asked for forgiveness. How humbling is that!

In the case of Oh, My Jesus, there I was. I had let a problem, which I had dealt with my entire life, once again become my focus. I was feeling rattled, dispirited, anxious, and helpless. And, perhaps, worst of all, I was feeling that I had lost all the victory I had gained over this circumstance.

The problem had captured my focus and my eyes were no longer on Jesus. He had been knocked off the pedestal and had been replaced with a counterfeit who was taking me captive again. What misery I wallowed in!

While getting ready for the day, I broke down and asked God to help me get things back into His perspective. I asked Him to forgive my lack of trust and to help me in my weakness.

That’s when He sent me Oh, My Jesus. To my surprise as the song flowed through me, it was as if I could hear the powerful voice of Mahalia Jackson singing it to me. When the words “Now I’m freed in my weakness! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!” poured out, I melted because I knew my Heavenly Father had heard my heart’s cry.

On That Day Song Story
Some people reach a point in life where they think few surprises remain. That’s where I was when I learned a truth about my life that left me reeling from what felt like a cannonball shot clear through my middle. The day I gained this knowledge, the song On That Day poured through me. It was the beginning of a flood of songs although, at the time, I had no way of knowing what was to come. I was surprised to get this song and very comforted by the words and music.

On further reflection, I understand my heart’s cry found in On That Day is every person’s quandary over why certain unfathomable things happen in this life. This song helped me deal with the agony of human disappointment that hits you when you least expect it. It helped me to walk out the resulting grief with hope and promise and trust knowing that my Heavenly Father wanted me to walk in truth and to be liberated by great understanding even though getting there would be a process that knocked me to my knees.

The closing lines of On That Day have resounded in my mind for the last five years. “How every hurt I suffered was one more star in my crown. How sweet the revelation! Nothing was lost. All is found.” By keeping our eyes on eternity and trusting in His promises, we can know that we know that we know God never wastes suffering.

Boundless Song Story
The words and music of the refrain to Boundless were poured through me shortly after hearing one of my songs sung by another person for the first time. I’m Working My Plan had previously existed only in my mind. Now to hear the words come through someone else back to me was emotionally overwhelming. I had to excuse myself from the room to regain my composure.

As soon as I was alone, I was even more profoundly overcome by the powerful refrain: “I can see Your glory. I see angels all around,” and so on. Frankly, I could hardly take in the power of the music flowing through me at the same time I was already dealing with the emotions of hearing one of my songs outside of me for the first time.

When the words and music stopped, I had a deep sense that my Heavenly Father was telling me that I was on the right path. Although nothing made sense in the natural, I was to move forward to find people to sing the songs that I knew only He could have sent. I had lived a most incredible moment. I had “touched the boundless” and I had been “enveloped by this.”

Later, I would receive I Adore You and I Will Be There in ways that left me similarly awed and encouraged.
