Album Notes
John Seymour, who records under the moniker of The Fire Apes, is releasing an eleven-song
record entitled “A Life in Letters.”  Seymour’s songs are generally categorized as rock/pop in the
vein of The Beatles, Oasis, Green Day, The Pretenders, and Fountains of Wayne.

“A Life in Letters” came to fruition through the incredible talent of many musicians, three
producers, and two mixing engineers.

Five of the songs were produced by multi-Platinum-selling Shinedown’s bass player/songwriter,
Eric Bass. Five songs were produced and mixed by Platinum/Gold producer Sean O’Keefe
(Plain White T’s--“Hey There Delilah”--Fall Out Boy, and Hawthorne Heights), with one song
produced by Fountains of Wayne guitarist Jody Porter and John Seymour.

Six of the songs were mixed by Sean O’Keefe, and five songs were mixed by John Holbrook
(disc mastering of The Who’s “Tommy” and Jimi Hendrix’s "Electric Ladyland”). John Holbrook
has mixed for Fountains of Wayne, received five Grammy Awards (Engineering/Mixing) for
recordings by The Brian Setzer Orchestra and B.B. King, and has multiple U.S. Platinum & Gold
Albums for work with The Isley Brothers, Natalie Merchant, and The Brian Setzer Orchestra.

Because of the success of several songs previously released from “A Life in Letters,” John
Seymour’s full-length album has been much anticipated. These songs have received over
900,000 plays on, have been featured on MTV's “The Hills” and
“Parental Control,” and have received over 220,000 plays on Clear Channel.
