* * * * * So Good!,
By Candacep
A friend of mine introduced me to Five Townz about 5-6 months ago. I can officially say I am definitely hooked and love them! They are a rare breed- being able to perform covers of well known songs is definitely no easy task, but Five Townz is absolutely amazing. They are able to own the song and make it their own, but at the same time you still get to feel like you are listening to that song you love and want to hear again and again. I have added a bunch of Five Townz to my Ipod party mixes and they have been big hits with my friends/family. For .99, definitely worth buying a few Five Townz tunes to your music library!

I love this single. The song has a great message, and this version is just as amazing as the original version I have heard. Great bands like this are hard to come across these days. It's less than a dollar to buy this song, and believe me when I say - It would be worth it!

* * * * * What a great song!,

This is one awesome song! Five Townz did an amazing job of maintaining Lady Samantha's authenticity yet making it their own and owning it. They are easily one of my favorite bands now and the price is just right! At just 0.99 cents why won't you buy this song? Get it now!

* * * * * Wow... Very Cool Rendition!,
By Mike the Maniac
I've been listening to 5fve Townz for a bit now and the music these guys put out never disappoints.
I'm blown away by this rendition of my old favorite "Lady Samantha". The band is progressively gaining my respect.
I highly recommend this song for those familiar with the original and fans who have never heard the song. It's really a great track and a very cool rendition! The guys even sound a bit like the original. :-)

* * * * * Great re-imagination of the song!,
By Raul Saucedo
Completely love the way they dusted off this old Elton John/Bernie Taupin ghost story and resurrected it from the grave. Truly a haunting arrangement! Excellent!

* * * * Good Sentimental Song,
By Rock Critic Chic
This song brings back alot of memories for me.
It was a rather obscure writing from Elton John and his writing partner Bernie T.
I'm glad to hear 5fve Townz doing it brilliantly. The musicianship is a kaleidoscope of instrumentation like pianos, strings, guitars. This version is more acoustic and less rocking than their other material, but that suits me fine! I really enjoy it!

* * * * * Great Single,
By Vanessa Moody
This cover song is so great. The way 5fve Townz does it catches the feel of the song perfectly. It's not as upbeat or cheery as their other songs- but I think that works out perfectly. This is my favorite song of theirs and I can't wait to hear more- I hope they release a full album soon!

* * * * * Great take on this classic song,
By K. Barr "pocket_saviour" (Derby, UK)
It's many years since I've heard this song, as this little-known Elton John track doesn't get much air-time. This version is quite different to the original. The striking thing is that 5ive Townz version has *more* of the classic Elton-John-style piano, whereas Elton's original actually leans more toward guitar work! In addition this version is a lot pacier and lively and loses that psychedelic feel (thankfully...) I definitely prefer this to the original!

* * * * I purchased it because I like it,
By Jaime Rourke
So, I like listening to stuff on Jango because it's sort of like a jukebox. Since it plays random stuff, it's good for background music while I'm working. I was listening the other day when I heard this song, Lady Samantha. It was cool. I really liked the haunting arrangement and chilling vocals. Then some Gwen Stefani song came on, but I couldn't get into it. I wanted more Lady Samantha. I searched on Google, and found out that it was an Elton John and Bernie Taupin song. I listened to their version, but that wasn't the one I heard on Jango. I did some more searching and found the Five Townz version, which was the one I heard on Jango. I ended up buying that one.

* * * * * Better than the original in my opinion,
By Kristen B. Brennan
I heard a commercial for this song during a roadtrip with my best mate. It was late and we were riding and listening to the radio, when a commercial for Lady Samantha came on. I was like is Elton John releasing a new single? Then I heard the announcer say that the song was an Elton John track, but that wasn't him singing on it. It was some band called Five Townz. I was kinda confused because it sounded like Elton John. After our trip, I did a search for Five Townz. I found their profile on Myspace and listened to the whole track. Then I did a search for the original. I have to say that I like the Five Townz version better because it sounds more modern and haunting, since the song is about ghosts and what not. I also liked how they changed up the end of the song. Anyway,I liked it so much that I came on Amazon to purchase it.

* * * * * Lady Samantha Revitalized,
By T. Knight
This is a great version of this song. I liked Elton John's version of Lady Samantha and yes it fit the era in which it was released but Five Townz version has so many more layers and nuances. I love the instrumental track thats playing under the song, it draws me into the song unlike the Elton John version that was very subdued. Overall I enjoyed Five Townz version.

* * * * * Super neue Version von einem Elton John Klassiker.
By von Nick Lange

5fve Townz is blowing me away with this awesome cover. It is definitely a change in personality compared to their earlier releases (Mama Told me Not to Come, Shambala, Black and White). Five Townz has a more mild
approach with this version and brings an Acoustic, unplugged, boy band, pop/soul feel to the single.
The song vocals are rather similar to Elton's and are impressive.
I recommend this single. Get it you will love it.

SWEET! * * * * *

I've been following this band, and they just seem to be getting better and better. This ballad is AWESOME. Catchy and meaningful. Great cover of a classic song. :) Definitely my favorite song of theirs. Awesome!

5fve Townz has alot of talent and style and they bring it to this version of "Lady Samantha".
I love the instrumentation of a real piano and string sounds.
Everything is in order here. A beautiful track. These guys are re-making magic!

Listening to 5 Townz’ performance on Mama Told Me, Shambala, Black & White, I can hear the hair metal influences, as one would expect from a classic rock cover. Has the groovy sounds reminiscent of the seventies without being dated. 5 Townz artfully combines several sounds without cluttering the mix. This piano ballad shows dexterity and versatility.

Amazing. * * * * *

It’s hard enough to do somebody else’s song,,, let alone such masters as Elton John and Bernie Taupin, but Five Townz version is in my opinion better than the original.

Awesome Addition to Five Townz Song List. * * * * *

This song by Five Townz is simply amazing. The quality of their music is high and this song is no exception! I love how they took this hit song and made it better. Nice work Five Townz, you’ve done it again. I love this song even more now. Can’t wait to see what you do next!

Vocals are crisp, instrumentation superb. * * * * *

My twenty year old niece turned me on to 5fve Townz and there seems to be something for everyone in their music. I love the emotional vocals and my niece feels the best parts are the piano and the acoustic guitars. The lyrics of this song are hauntingly beautiful in a way that many of Elton John’s originals can be.
I like the 5fve Townz version better than any version of this song that I have heard. I was playing it at work and my co-workers asked, ‘Who is that?’ This song is infectious and beautiful. The arrangement in this single surprises me in some way everytime I play it as you hear more and more of the complexity of the arrangement every time that you hear it. I will be buying a lot more music from this fantastic group.

5ive Townz take on Elton and haul him into 2012! * * * * *
by Paul Swan
As I dig deeper into 5ive Townz I find that they also like obscure covers! Actually isnt it cool that a band doesnt just take the easy route and cover a very well known song. This is a little known Elton John song from way...WAY...back. As is typical with these guys they have added some 5five Townz 2012 sparkle and production to a very under-rated song. Loving the piano sound and simplicity of this track. The multi-tracked vocals add great depth to the sound that wasnt in the original...but lets not be too harsh on was back in 69 :]

Better than Elton John surley Not? * * * * *
by Bookwormer99
I like the orginal with the velvet vocals of Elton John but I have to admit to Five Townz taking it and actually improving it. The slightly upped tempo and more intricate guitar work and piano to my ears made it more involving and tuneful. The vocals where not quite as good as Elton John's, however are not that far behind either and they have in my opinion made an old classic even better. I look forward to listening to more from Five Townz.

I really enjoyed listening to it !! * * * * *

Definitely different from the other versions out there, like comparing apples and oranges.
I really enjoyed listening to it !!

Such a beautiful song that I can listen to any time. The lyrics are amazing and the instrumentals are played with such conviction. I love this piece of music and I hope you can appreciate it as much as I do.

This is the 3rd song I have reviewed by Five Townz, which seems to be an artist on the rise, but which has yet to reach our shores. It says here on the CD cover that this one was written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, which surprises me because I never heard Elton perform it and can’t find it on any of his record albums. Then comes word from me music researcher mate who vividly remembers a sixties kiwi singer “Shane” (formerly from the defunct Aussie band, The Pleazers) scored a hit single in NZ. It was distributed here in AU late 1969, and which he played for me the other day. I don’t want a shellacking nor knock a hit song by one of New Zealand’s top vocalists, but for an objective, impartial review, my opinion of the 2 tunes played back to back is that Five Towns are very talented using dynamic sounds within all the vocalists. Oh blimey! Just download and have a listen to the whole piece and you be the judge if this song merits my rating.

Five Townz has a sound for everyone
Typically I do not review CDs. I commented on their Black and White single because I don’t like hard rock, but I do like Five Townz’s unique take on that song. My 5 year old really liked the song. She kept asking me to play it over and over :)
I thought it interesting how I could enjoy the same song as my 5 year old daughter!
I was listening to an oldies radio station in Maine WQRY-Y106 and heard them advertising a special Halloween broadcast with H.G. Wells War of the World’s. It included an iTunes radio commercial featuring the new single, Lady Samantha by Five Townz. The announcer said it was penned by Elton John and Bernie Taupin in London back in the sixties. “Today,” says the announcer, “her spirit is reincarnated a retelling of the old ghost story by a new relatively unknown artist called, Five Townz.”
After the commercial, I heard the whole song. I especially enjoyed Lady Samantha at Halloween because…It’s not scary but is definitely haunting!!! The song is very spooky if you actually listen to the words.
Lady Samantha is so vastly different from Black and White, which shows Five Townz can be belters and crooners, rockers and balladeers, and which is why I gotta give it 5 stars.

Nicely done!
I heard the Five Townz fantastic reworking of Shambala and Momma Told Me Not to Come recently but this time they modernize by simplifying. Whilst absent are the glorious guitars and solid rhythm section, they are neither missing nor needed, for this selection is definitely recognizable as the Five Townz sound. Ginormous hooks, catchy chorus, magnificent openings and closings that give their songs its flavour and style, it is all here.

Can't stop listening to this...really awesome.
Can't stop listening to this...really awesome. Exquisite arrangements. I agree with the others here and this is my kind of music.

Never liked cover songs before this one
I heard Lady Samantha by Five Townz on a Canadian radio station and the DJ was saying how he didn’t like cover song, but that he liked what Five Townz had done with this song. I totally agree with the DJ! This song is not as upbeat as some of their others, but it shows how they can be diversified with their music. They have made me change the way I look at cover songs! Great job guys!

Five Townz takes it to the top!
I generally don't leave reviews for music, but I had to express my thoughts on this band because they've really stood out to me. I'm completely hooked and have been listening to their singles back-to-back (haven't found a bad one yet). I first heard the Five Townz version of Lady Samantha on a radio commercial and it immediately caught my attention. I love that they took a song written by Elton John and Bernie Toupin and remade it completely awesome. The instrumental is very powerful and I love the backup vocal (along with the lead vocalist of course whose voice just rocks). I enjoyed the Five Townz song moreso than the original because it has a modern feel to it..something you could expect to hear playing on the radio and end up at the top of the charts. It's very catchy and their spin on it is simply brilliant. It's a track you can put on repeat and doesn't get old. I would absolutely love to see these guys in concert and hope they one day tour in my area. = )

great introduction to the band's talent-
Five Townz has been one my favorite bands for the past year now, this is a great introduction to the band's talent. They have a great upbeat style that is incredible additive. This song has been stuck on repeat on my ipod for the last week.

5ive Townz is a breath of fresh air
This is the only album I have listened to for the past month. The music is fantastic and emotive. I feel like I'm living inside a mood, a moment in time that is totally captivating. I can honestly say that this is one of the best singles I have ever purchased! I already recommended this album to all of my friends, its definitely a must buy!

An Absolutely Great Ballad!
Five Towns does a great job with this song! Some people don't always do a good job of another persons song, but they really nailed it with this one. I have been playing this over and over on my ipod. The song has great vocals and you really need to listen to the song a few for times to appreciate all the subtleties that went into it. I was really impressed with their other music as well so be sure to check out some of their other songs.
This is one of those great songs from Elton John and this version is absolutely awesome. Once you listen to it I'm sure you'll agree.

Surprisingly unexpected and unpredictable
A hauntingly beautiful ballad, Lady Samantha is Elton John and Bernie Taupin's ghost story from the sixties brought back to life by Five Townz. I have not heard filler song from this artist as of yet and I've listened to all released tracks to date. By now I thought I knew what to expect judging from their prior releases. Once again Five Townz delivers! This time the outcome was surprisingly unexpected and unpredictable, for they went with a simplistic, back-to-basics, bare-bones arrangement where less is more. I found the natural ambiance of the piano delightful and a welcomed change to the typical synth keyboards so common to today's music. Lady Samantha showcases the astounding vocals. My favorite part of the song is the middle part.
