Album Notes
In 2010, veteran Austin musician Fletcher Clark produced and released a collection of twelve of his original songs recorded by twelve different artists, in a dozen of Austin's best studios, using the talents of near fifty of its best players. That CD, TAKING TURNS, was released on the then revived Armadillo Records label, continuing Fletcher's long association with the legendary Armadillo World Headquarters (and his memorable band Balcones Fault). As his writing and performing grew, his fans became increasingly impatient for him to record his own versions of his songs. Fletcher said, "So I used the basic concept of the TAKING TURNS collection with its fine artwork from Guy Juke, this time just featuring ME ." This is third release from his label Flécha3 Music, the first being Open Up the Doors (faith-based), the second being SONGS OF SUSANNA (Texas history). MY TURN takes you from an imaginary parade ground; to a hectic modern byway; to a lonely walk home; to a western swing dance; to an acceptance of change; to a Louisiana waltz; to a slow drag warning; to an upbeat lamentation; to a latin remembrance of lost love; to the resignation of acceptance; to the challenge of lest we forget; to the upbeat path.
