Album Notes
Flora Scott is a jazz vocalist, guitarist and song writer living in Victoria B.C. She has been performing in the area for several years with her trio and quintet as well as an 18 piece jazz orchestra.
Her unique vocal style has been influenced by artists such as Mose Allison, Sarah Vaughn, Chet Baker, Peggy Lee and many others. She has been playing the guitar from an early age and plays on several of the tracks on this c.d.
"Then And Now" was recorded with Hugh Fraser, an internationally renowned pianist, trombonist and arranger. Also included are five other talented top Canadian jazz musicians, namely Ross Taggart on tenor sax, Brad Turner on trumpet, Ken Lister on bass, Dave Robbins on drums and Cam Ryga on soprano and alto sax.
The producer is Claire Lawrence who has produced many top Canadian performers, including Shari Ulrich.
The songs selected for this recording are a variety of latin and swing tunes as well as an original song written by Flora Scott,( Stay )
