Album Notes
Musically born out of the 70s, raised in the 80s, and experimenting through out the 90s, Fluid Boys cut a wide swath across the world of rock. Never ones to shy away from a good rock beat, Fluid Boys can also include Jazz and Pop, and other different styles in their music.

Not ashamed of being called derivative, the Fluid Boys seem to revel in the term, and freely admit their influences.
Mostly influenced by Boston Based New England Rock bands and English Pop and Blues bands, the phrase "New English Pop" seems to fit.

"Vinyl" itself is a smörgåsbord of these styles, tailored to fit the personalities and talents of the band members, and presented as a slightly quirky, but not inaccessible album.
Some influences will be readily identified, some are more subtle.

With all the band members sharing writing, singing, and production chores, there is still continuity in the variety on the album. Not all the songs sound the same, that’s not the idea behind Fluid Boys or “Vinyl”.
In fact, they enjoy saying that if you don’t like a song, stick around for three and a half minutes, they’ll be another one along that you will like

Professor Stamos Metzidakis

This is the longer review not attached to the short one previously sent
From the Pink Floyd-like crash sounds of the opening salvo, through the pulsating, complex Zeppelin- or Aerosmith-like hypnotic rhythms of the middle tunes, to, finally, the playful, multi-instrumental songs reminiscent of the Beatles at their most casual, fun moments, "Vinyl" is a wonderful party album, one best appreciated while driving fast down the highway, or crapped out on your couch on a lonely Friday night. It recaptures not just the sounds of many of rock's recent glories, but also the spirit and feel of the times when the latter first perked up our ears. If you're not in a positive, upbeat mood before you play it, you sure will be afterward. Either that, or you simply don't like popular music.

If, on the other hand, you want the experience of an exciting live rock band raising the roof off your favorite local venue, "Vinyl" provides an easy, convenient way to get it. And this CD does that without your having to pay extra for the drinks. Put it on, therefore, sit back and start tapping your foot and finger. Before you know it, you'll be back hangin' with your friends & checkin' out the babes in your "wildest dreams," as the Moody Blues would have it....So, buy it now or else stay bored in the office cubicle of your usual mindset.
