Album Notes
This EP was written by Fools’ Gold members; Brandon Hatten (vocals/rhythm guitar), Octavio Lozada (lead guitar), Jeff Lasch (bass/trombone), Drake Crowley (drums), and dear friend Rxtro (vocals). Over the course of one year, the group had many trials of butting heads to musically produce a combined sound of each member’s unique strengths in his diverse musical abilities and song writing process. This drawn out, trying process is what gives The Elderflower its various range of genres and dynamic sound. Alligator Death Roll was a trail for Drake in his disbelief of tempo changes within a song. Lessons of a Fool (feat: Rxtro) was a lyrical challenge for Brandon as he learned to write a song in both his perspective and that of another to have them intertwine for the purposefully directed meaning. Dandy Lions was a challenge for Octavio in creating a mood and setting for the lead guitar to breathe at the right time. As for Jeff, he is musically perfect and faced no challenge for the excellence of his playing is far superior to the other members. Thank you Matt Goings at Killian Studios for recording, mixing, and mastering all tracks on the EP. Thank you Rxtro for displaying your talents in performance and songwriting abilities and for contributing your time to the creation of Lessons of a Fool. Thank YOU for listening to all of our hearts poured out into these five songs. None of this would be worth it without YOU. THANK YOU.
