Album Notes
The Forget-Me-Nots hail from Watauga County in the mountains of western North Carolina. Band members are fiddlers Ledah Finck, Maura Shawn Scanlin, and Willa Finck, with David Finck on backup guitar. The girls started playing music together in 1999, at the tender ages of 4, 3, and 2 years old. Their band was officially formed in the summer of 2002, when they first displayed their fiddle talents at the Old Mill old-time music festival in Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee. Since then, they have been perfecting their own unique blend of traditional Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton, and Appalachian fiddle music, with a helping of contemporary tunes. Their influences have been wide-ranging and include an array of artists and teachers, along with a foundation and ongoing studies of classical violin. The Forget-Me-Nots have performed at a number of regional venues, including the Merlefest, Grandfather Mountain Highland Games, the Ashe County Christmas in July festival, and the Daniel Boone Anniversary Festival in Mocksville, North Carolina. They are also repeat performers at the Jones House in Boone, the Mountainhome Music series in Watauga County, and the back porch of the original Mast Store in Valle Crucis, NC.
